THE ILLUSTRATION BRIEF
SUMMARY
Lettie is nothing like her sister. Lettie is ambitious and not remotely interested in marriage. This story is set in 1890.
THE SCENE
Lettie has dark hair and dark eyes (she’s 20) and is a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding. She is wearing a gold dress and is off to the side chatting to a guest. Looking on admiringly is Professor Miles Grafton. He is in his mid to late 20s and is tanned from his visits abroad. Lettie is unaware that he is looking at her.
